SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant Level 1 – Complex Needs (Yrs 6–11)

Pay Rate:

£19,242 – £19,986 (FTE 1.0)

Hours:

32.5 hours per year | Term-time only
Permanent Position | ASAP Start

 

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support pupils with complex needs in Years 6–11. This is a permanent role starting ASAP within a specialist educational setting in the Stratford-upon-Avon area.

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with pupils with SEND
• Level 1 Teaching Assistant experience desirable
• Ideally trained in manual handling, positive handling, or similar practical support skills
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusion
• Ability to work effectively within a classroom team and with external professionals
Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

 

Role Responsibilities:

• Support pupils’ learning as directed by the class teacher
• Assist with preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Participate in record keeping and provide feedback on pupils’ progress
• Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development and encourage independence
• Liaise with families to provide information and answer queries
• Contribute to a positive classroom ethos and inclusive environment
